Att upptäcka en för dig helt ny artist... Att fatta hur bra denne är.... Det är en av tjusningarna med att lyssna på och skriva om musik. Det händer ju inte heller så speciellt ofta nu för tiden...
Hon heter alltså Tracey Browne. Ett efternamn som förpliktigar... Och hon är ruskigt bra...!
En tjej från Manchester som gör sin egen musik och har jobbat med bl.a. Thea Gilmore och Thea's make Nigel Stonier. Därtill producerar Tracey andra independent-artister.
Den senaste skivan, "The Doctrine of Song", släpptes i november 2017 och är en lite tuffare skiva än de tidigare. Omväxlande arrangemang och en väldigt hög kvalitet på låtmaterialet.
Och så Traceys sång som berör mig rakt in i hjärtat.
Men det album jag lyssnat mest på är "Everyone Is Ordinary" från 2012. Det påminner en del om Thea Gilmore's musik, fast det gör ju inget när det är så här bra.
"River City" är en ypperlig låt som jag har lyssnat på oräkneliga gånger och jag fascineras bara mer och mer. Så spröd och rörande, så sårbar, men ändå så dramatiskt vacker...
"The Cat and the Moon" är nästan lika bra. Avslutande "Kate Rusby" är fasktiskt en låt om att låtsas vara Kate Rusby, men med en klok slutsats på slutet. Helt enkelt: En ren fyndskiva...!
Duo-projektet med Raevennan Husbandes är mer akustiskt och stämmorna sitter så suveränt. Stämningsfullt med innehåll.
De digitala live-skivorna från 2012 visar att Tracey klarar sig gott både på egen hand och med ett band. Kan köpas för endast ett pund...
Jag har inte hunnit lyssna så mycket på alla de andra skivorna än, men jag ser fram emot det... Tro mig, det här är grejen...!

The Duo-project with Raevennan Husbandes is an acoustic offering and the harmonies are superb. Very peaceful mood with strong lyrics.
The two digital live CD:s from 2012 shows us that Tracey is doing just as well on her own as with a band. These records can be purchased for only one pound each...
I haven’t had the time to listen to the other ones so much yet, but I'm looking forward to doing it... Believe me, this is the thing...!
