Jenna - Ung och begåvad, men redan rutinerad

'10 skivor jag borde skrivit om' - del 4:
Jenna (Witts) - "Hitchhiker" 2013

'10 Albums I should have written about '- Part 4:
    Jenna (Witts) - "Hitchhiker 2013"

Jenna was just 15 when she wrote "Seven Days" with Steve Knightley of Show of Hands and sang on their album "Country Life". The following year she recorded an album with Steve Knightley and Seth Lakeman, "Western Approaches", that has been highly rated by British media. Eleven years later, she has already made three solo albums on her own. The debut "Barefoot & Eager" probably just has one fault and that is that she is not barefoot on the cover ... (!)

"Hitchhiker" was released in 2013 and has it all: Very good songs, sensible lyrics and Jenna's wonderful and expressive voice, with a sound that is reminiscent of Catherine MacLellan's fourth album. Jenna plays the piano (she has done five tours with Steve Knightley), acoustic guitar and sings very good.

"Halflight" is my favorite song on the album, an absolutely superb song with a sound that Lucinda Williams would have been proud of. But the quality is generally very high throughout. If Jenna continues to take small steps forward in songwriting, she can become just as good as it gets...!

Jenna Witts has chosen to call himself 'Jenna' as her artist name, and she is not alone. Spotify has many albums available, but only "Hitchhiker" is by Jenna Witts.

This is how it sounded in 2009 when Jenna and Steve Knightley performed "Caught In The Rain":
