Ken Dunn har jag tidigare skrivit om på bloggen några gånger. Jag har sedan dess lärt känna en kanadensare med stort hjärta både för den enskilda individen och för en bättre värld med en ödmjuk respekt för både miljö och rättvisa.
Jag har således stora förväntningar när jag lysssnar på nya albumet "Wondrous Beauty" som släpps den 1 september. Det första jag ser är ett konvolut som är bland det finaste jag sett på ett tag, ett riktigt konstverk av Libby Hunter's härliga foton.
Musikaliskt har Ken Dunn på denna sin 7:e skiva skalat av melodierna till ett mer "trubaduriskt" sound och låter sin egen gitarr, Anna Green's piano och Tyler Beckett's fiol skina i förgrunden. Det sprider en värme och ett lugn som lyser upp mitt sinne.
Textmässigt skriver Ken Dunn om det lilla och det stora, med övertygelsen om att, trots allt mörker, sprida hopp och en envis tro på mänskligheten.

I have previously written about Ken Dunn a few times on the blog. I have since then learned to know a Canadian with a big heart, both for the individual and for a better world with a humble respect for both the environment and justice.
So, I have big expectations when I listen to the new album "Wondrous Beauty", that will be released on September 1st. The first thing I see is a front cover that is among the finest I've seen for a while, a true artwork of Libby Hunter's beautiful photos.
Musically, on his 7th album, Ken Dunn has dressed the melodies into a more "troubadouric" sound and his own guitar, Anna Green's piano and Tyler Beckett's violin shine in the foreground. It spreads a warm feeling and a calmness that lights up my mind.
Ken Dunn’s lyrics are about the small and the big things in life, with a true conviction in, despite all the darkness around, spreading hope and a stubborn belief in humanity.
